- How are Level designs sized?
- All Level designs are sized to your specifications. Technically speaking, there is no "standard" size for these designs. Think of them as pieces of art that can be adapted to precisely fit your space.
- How does sizing affect the artwork?
- Most designs are flexible enough to accommodate a wide range of size requirements, while maintaining the integrity of the artwork. Our designers employ a variety of techniques to fit a design to your space. In some cases the overall scale of the artwork will be modified; in others the artwork will be tiled or cropped to achieve the desired effect. A combination of techniques may also be required. Your aesthetic preferences, along with the requirements of your specified design, will be used to select the right technique for your space. While there are some limitations to each option, your sales associate will be able to assist you in achieving your desired effect.
- How do I determine the size I need?
- In many cases, you will simply need to know an overall height and width of your space. Depending on the complexity of the installation, it may be helpful to provide an architectural elevation, floorplan, or scale drawing with appropriate dimensions identified. Providing actual field measurements will achieve the best results, especially in more elaborate installations. Always provide the actual dimensions needed; our design team will add the necessary overage for trimming, etc. Your sales associate will assist you with this process at the appropriate time.
- Can I make changes to the design or color of Level designs?
- Yes. The design and color can be altered to suit your requirements. Some changes, such as minor color adjustments, are relatively quick and easy. Others, like modifications to a design's layout, composition, or technique, are much more involved. For specific requests and to receive a quote, please contact your sales associate.
- How will my colors be affected by my substrate choice?
- It is important to remember that each substrate will handle color differently, and printing on different substrates can have a dramatic effect on the way color is reproduced. For example, a light tan that looks great on a white vinyl may appear much darker on a wood grain substrate, or it may disappear on a light tan grasscloth. Or a full-coverage design that accentuates a grasscloth may completely obscure the beauty of a glass bead when printed on it. When you specify a design, your sales representative will gladly assist you in selecting the right substrate for the job.
- Do I need to order a strike-off?
- Strike-offs are normally required for all custom orders to verify actual color and image resolution/clarity. A strike-off is printed on the actual substrate you select, at a standard size of 3ft. x 4ft. Please contact your sales associate for pricing and ordering information.
- How do you produce large designs?
- Depending on their size, some designs can be printed and shipped in one piece. Larger designs will be printed in several panels (typically about 36" or 54" wide) usually with overlap added between each panel. For multiple panel applications, each panel is numbered and a corresponding installation map is provided as a guide.
- How are Level designs installed?
- Detailed hanging and care instructions and are provided with each shipment of Level product, along with an installation map. Depending on the substrate, all special care instructions will be included.
- Are Level products durable?
- Yes. Level products are printed using UV and fade resistant inks, and they are coated with high performance protective coating to provide increased abrasion and scratch resistance. All substrates offered have been tested to meet commercially acceptable performance standards. With that in mind, some substrates such as the wood grains or glass beads are by their nature more delicate than a standard vinyl and proper consideration of installation requirements is necessary when choosing these.
